This project explores the idea of commercialisation, urbanisation and capitalism and how it impacts the environs and layout of a city as it evolves, changes and regenerates. As city transforms it also transforms the social, political and economic context which could inadvertently impact people

As cities are becoming more and more diverse and urbanisation unfolds with capitalist consumption patterns which redefines the fabric and layout of the city. As city is dwelling onto becoming a new mecca of captilasit consumption and hedonistic pleasures, it also changes the way we connect and organically link to each other and the city as a whole. The new urban layout of the city also creates a intact power relation which disconnects past from the future and succintly divides old from new. This reconceptualises the way we relate to the spaces, buildings, city forms and city buildings and reconceptualises the individual-city interface.

As part of the porject, artist walked around the old city to discover the hiddent, derelict and abondonded sites, buildings in Nicosia( one of the last divided cities) where war, division and changing social and economic dynamics have impacted the way the city has evolved. When the old habitants have left the old to re-create a new urban site with newer buildings, they have abondoned and detach themselves from once they consider their usual " habitat" where they lives cultivated, they raised their children, they have dwelled on their streets to go to a market transforming their lives into a new horizon in the new city.

The threadcones found in the abondoned factory represents how this change, evolution and regeneration has taken place. It provokes a feeling of a " instant journey" which is mystical and takes you to once vibrant streets of old Nicosia. It represents how there was once people working and producing in this factory but the detriments and predicaments of the vicious capitalist economy stampt its existence out.

children playing marble, forgotten objects behind closed doors, were the only places left to decay, representing the power of objects, provoking the feelings, expressions; To take measure, multiply, divide, limit, differentiate, the other, digest history, hard digest , convert, destroy, foot rub, to remove dust, collect, remove, place, ruin, to provide a new settlement proposals, in the process of what could happen, ask questions, query, query again, repeat the past and its interface with the future.
