These photos are all from one place: the old Watts & Campbell Steam Engine Company in Newark, NJ, USA. The factory was built and 1859 and only about a 1/2 block remains of the original sprawling 3-1/2 block complex.

Stuffed with a bewildering array of classic steam driven machine tools, it is a mausoleum honoring a time and place we romanticize, but will never again know.

As a blue collar industrial worker myself, I find resonance in these places where my "professional forbears" worked.
