I come from a very creative and artistic family. My mother has been a writer, painter, musician and collage artist. My father was a photographer. From an early age I was always encouraged to be creative and art has always been a part of my life.

Over the years I have had varying types of creative outlets from paper making to stained glass to computer graphics. While I inherited my love of photography from my father at a young age, it has only been in the last few years that I have really put a great deal of time and passion into focusing on my photography.

My style emphasizes shape, texture, pattern and light. Although there is beauty everywhere, it is often the smallest things others may miss that catch my attention. It’s these glimpses of overlooked beauty that I aspire to pass along to others.

I have a fascination for black and white photography. For me, it brings the image down to its simplest form and allows me to focus on the lines, shapes, and contrast without distraction. While color can be very powerful and beautiful I tend to use it in my work in simple ways to highlight or accentuate the image.

While looking at my work and the world around you I encourage you to look a little closer, dig a little deeper, and find the beauty in even the most mundane.
